The hiking: Walking is my only mode of self-directed transport, as I neither drive nor ride a bike. Hiking is my idyllic combination of nature + walking. I wouldn’t be caught dead in a gym.
Not a field guide: I’m embarrassingly, awkwardly new to wild plant and fungi identification. This means that I’ll probably botch some IDs horribly, and I expect that someone, somewhere will point and laugh and say, “However could that daft girl think that fruitbody belonged to the Mushroomcybe noremarkablefeaturesii species, when it’s obviously an M. ordinarybrownshroomii? The detached squigglyboppers on the underside of the umbrella-doodad are dead giveaways!” I am doing my best to slowly educate myself and to seek second and third and fourth opinions from (what I hope are) more knowledgeable online communities. Never, ever use Heather Goes Hiking as a field guide, especially when trying to identify edible fungi. Just don’t.

Reblog to your heart’s content, but please email or message me if you want to use images for stock, photomanips, etc. If I find my images posted as your own on an obscure corner of deviantART or somesuch user-generated content site, I will shed my human disguise and show my true beastly form. In which case you should run.
